About this session

Leadership Forged by the Four Horsemen – Planning Lessons For Project Managers from Fires, Floods, Pestilence and War

When Mike Tyson was asked by a reporter if he was worried about his plan to fight Evander Holyfield, he responded; “Everyone has a plan until they punched in the mouth.” Steve will relate the vital planning lessons he learned from leading some of the most complex projects ever: leading combat soldiers; responding to tsunamis, wildfires; and, SARS.

Key Lessons include:

1) Clearly understand the current state of affairs

2) Clearly articulate what the world will look like when your project is finished

3) Get the right people and the right resources on the task

4) Identify and manage your key stakeholders
