Marketing and Communications Manager


PMI Canadian West Coast Chapter caters to the project management community from a broad spectrum of industries and organizations. With audience engagement being one of the prime drivers, we communicate regularly through various platforms such as website, eBlast (email), social media, annual reports, etc. The Marketing and Communications Manager will work closely with the Board of Directors and the Marketing and Communications team to develop and execute communications plans.


  • Proficient in spoken and written professional and English.
  • Enthusiastic approach to take on new opportunities and challenges.
  • Commitment to navigate our internal operations to achieve the best team and business results.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter and able to initiate actions and work with fellow volunteers to improve the Chapter's operational productivity.

Social Media Manager


On our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube!), regularly promote chapter events, announce education opportunities, update chapter news, share project management articles, and more. As a Social media manager, you will engage in sharing content on Social media channels.


  • Must have experience with various social media platforms especially LinkedIn.
  • Must have sufficient experience with creative design tools such as graphic design and video editing software
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English, especially spelling and punctuation.
  • Work with fellow team members, share ideas, develop and document processes to improve the effectiveness of Social Media.
  • Be a self-starter who initiates action and works with fellow volunteers to improve the portfolio's (and the Chapter's) operational efficiencies.
  • Absolutely team and collaboration-driven.
  • Focus and attention to detail are very important for this position.
  • Appetite for innovation and new ideas is very welcome.
  • Good sense of humor and team spirit.

Programs Event Manager


CWCC’s Programs portfolio is responsible for the planning, execution, and monitoring of 5-6 Speaker events per calendar year as an Event Manager ( dinner Speaker Events). CWCC PMI is a forum for excellence that will increase the awareness, effectiveness, and value of professional project management for practitioners and organizations.


  • Attend all programs team meetings
  • Be comfortable with public speaking
  • Natural leadership qualities
  • Be able to make amendments on Chapter Website Programs if needed
  • Proactively build partnerships with local event venues
  • Develop, plan, execute with a team 5-6 events in a calendar year
  • Must strictly adhere to the PMI Professional Codes of Conduct and values.

Website Content Manager

Description (3 Openings) - Temporary 6months

The PMI CWCC Chapter is in need of three volunteers to assist in maintaining the chapter's website, enhance the user experience and support the chapter’s strategic decisions. The volunteer will work on content update requests, new initiatives, ad hoc requests and continuously improving the PMI Canadian West Coast Chapter (CWCC) website. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive

contribution to the chapter and utilize your creative skills to improve one of its most significant communication channels.


- Liaise with key stakeholders to ascertain their needs and requirements for website pages.

- Update Chapter website as per board and internal team requests (e.g. Conferences, Workshops, Team Profiles, Organization changes, and other ongoing requests)

- Using drag and drop functionality, design and test prototype web pages.

- Liaise with content providers to incorporate what they provide into the web page

- Participate in regular project progress meetings.

- Work with the Chapter's website provider, to deploy new web pages into a live environment.

- Assists with Troubleshooting and Quality Assurance testing of the website

Required Skills

- Some experience in web page design or graphic design is preferred.

- Knowledge/experience of WordPress, HTML, CSS

- Hands experience and knowledge of Content Management System (CMS)

- Experience in gathering user needs and performing user testing desired but not preferred.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team

- Working knowledge of SEO, adding meta descriptions to pages, blog posts, and photos

- Attention to detail and creative thinking

- CAPM, PMP certification, or working towards it(nice to have)
