I would like to thank the PMI CWCC for accepting me into the Mentorship Program and for assigning Mr. Rustum Tharani as my PM Mentor. Rustum was everything I was looking for in a mentor - experienced, encouraging, communicative and always available to assist and answer my questions at short notice. Rustum went out of his way to guide with live examples and situations from his many years as a PM.

I hope to continue working on being a better PM and even a mentor in the future.

I have a very specific background and I thought it will be hard for me to match with a mentor. From the first time I met my mentor, we clicked; apart from discovering that we had a lot of things in common, the PMI CWCC put in a lot of hard work to find the right match!

 

My mentor took time off his schedule to meet with me several times and speak about the right path to a successful career. Then, British Columbia was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. As elsewhere around the world, in person meetings were not an opportunity anymore. My mentor was quite supportive during these times, where career opportunities and other projects were put on hold! We exchanged materials on PMP exam preparation, a lot of ideas on how to approach the job market and career enhancement opportunities! Now, I know what it takes to become a successful Project Manager! I recommend this program for anyone in PM world! It will open doors of opportunities that one does not know they exist and create professional development plans that work!
