The Project Management Institute Canadian West Coast Chapter (PMI CWCC) is offering speaking opportunities and opened a call for speakers for proposals for the 2026.
In a world where change is constant and complexity is growing, project managers are expected not just to adapt – we must anticipate, innovate, and lead with confidence. The PMI CWCC embraces this challenge, highlighting the power of collective resilience, strategic foresight, and collaborative leadership in an era of uncertainty.
As project professionals, we connect the dots, rally the team, align diverse objectives, and bring the project to the finish line, never just by ourselves but always with the team. We understand that no project leader succeeds alone – collaboration, adaptability, and shared knowledge are key.

For each of our events, we will open a formal “Call for presentations” a few months before the event to allow our community and industry experts the opportunity to submit for the chance to speak.

Did you know that presenting on project management topics is a powerful way to earn Professional Development Units (PDUs) while enhancing your professional reputation?
By sharing your knowledge and insights with fellow PMI members, you contribute to the growth of the project management community while fulfilling your certification renewal requirements. Whether you lead a webinar, speak at a chapter event, or present at a conference, your efforts in educating others translate into valuable PDUs under the Giving Back category.
Beyond just earning PDUs, presenting is an opportunity to sharpen your communication skills, expand your professional network, and establish yourself as a thought leader in the field. PMI values members who actively contribute to knowledge-sharing, and your presentation could inspire others while reinforcing your own expertise. Take the next step in your professional development—share your insights, earn PDUs, and make a meaningful impact on the project management community!
Under PMI’s Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR), presentations fall under the Giving Back: Giving a Presentation category. You can claim one PDU for every hour spent preparing and delivering your presentation. If you present multiple times on different topics, you can accumulate even more PDUs, helping you meet your renewal requirements faster. Just be sure to log your time accurately in the PMI CCR system to ensure you receive proper credit for your contributions.

Current and aspiring project professionals are at the heart of our focus, driving us to constantly find new, exciting speakers that offer Project Professionals opportunities to expand their horizons at every stage in their careers.
In your proposals:
- Be specific
We cannot consider proposals that just include a link, ambiguous text about speaking on any topic, etc.
- Consider the audience
When formulating your proposal, keep in mind who you would present to and how they can learn from your session.
Because we receive so many submissions, you will only hear from us if your idea is considered.

2025 Call for Speakers and Workshops/Masterclasses
Theme: Ready Together
The Project Management Institute Canadian West Coast Chapter (PMI CWCC) is accepting presentation proposals for the 2025 PM West Conference that will be held on Wednesday, September 24 (speaker series) and Thursday, September 25, 2025 (workshops and masterclasses). The conference is an in-person event and will be held at the iconic Vancouver Convention Centre, 1055 Canada Place, Vancouver, BC, V6C 0C3, Canada.
PM West (formerly, the CWCC Annual Conference and Career Fair) is the premier event for the project management community in Western Canada. Our 2025 conference theme is ‘Ready Together’.
In a world where change is constant and complexity is growing, project managers are expected not just to adapt – we must anticipate, innovate, and lead with confidence. The 2025 PM West Annual Conference theme embraces this challenge, highlighting the power of collective resilience, strategic foresight, and collaborative leadership in an era of uncertainty.

PM West’s conference attendees are interested in hearing about projects from across all business, community-based and governmental organizations, organizations both large and small and from those practitioners who have a story to tell, a lesson to teach or innovation to share.
Presentation ideas may include, but are certainly not limited to:
- Lessons learned case studies
- New ideas, methodologies, tools and techniques
- Critical reviews and proposed remedies to major challenges in project delivery
Presentation details:
Speaker Series
- In-person sessions at Vancouver Convention Centre on Wednesday, September 24, 2025
- Sessions are 60 mins / 1 hour in total, structured as follows: ~5 min intro; ~45-50 mins speaker presentation; ~5-10 mins Q&A.
- Formats: Keynotes, Panels, Individual Speaker Presentations
Workshops / Masterclasses
- In-person interactive sessions at Vancouver Convention Centre on Thursday, September 25, 2025
- Sessions are up to 240mins / 4 hours in total
- Formats: Hands-on workshops, deep-dive masterclasses
Please Note:
- Speakers may submit proposals for both options but must submit separate applications.
- Speakers may not directly sell products or services during their presentation.
- Speakers will not be paid by PMI CWCC (PM West) for preparation or delivery of their presentation.
- Speakers are to arrange their own transportation and accommodation (if applicable) to be on site on the day. Reimbursement of these expenses will not be provided, unless it is negotiated and agreed
to in advance. PMI CWCC (PM West) is a nonprofit organization and has a very limited budget for such expenses. - Workshop facilitators requiring additional materials (e.g., flip charts) must specify this in their application.
Application Submission Requirements include:
- Speaker Photo (send to conference.speakers@pmi.bc.ca)
- Speaker Bio (up to 300 words)
- Presentation details, including:
- Title,
- Synopsis, and
- Three key learning outcomes.
- 1-2 minute video summary on why this topic should be in the conference (please prepare the video before filling in the application form and share it as a YouTube link).
Please submit your application via SPEAKER SERIES FORM or MASTERCLASS FORM on or before 11:55 pm PST Monday, April 28, 2025, for consideration by the review panel.
If selected to present, items 1-3 above will be posted on the PM West website and used for marketing purposes on PM West’s social media channels.
