About this session

As industry professionals, it is important for Project Managers to be alert to certain key legal issues for managing risk, reviewing and preparing documentation, and successful project delivery. This presentation will address the top legal issues and recent developments.

Roy Nieuwenburg, Q.C.

Roy Nieuwenburg

Roy has been practicing law with Clark Wilson LLP since 1980 and is chair of its Infrastructure, Construction and Procurement Practice Group. He has a wealth of experience with construction projects, tendering, RFPs, project management and project delivery.

Roy has done extensive work in the construction and procurement field for the University of British Columbia and UBC Properties Trust and a dozen other universities and colleges in British Columbia, and also for his alma mater University of Manitoba, and for a number of Ontario universities and institutions, and for Vancouver Airport Authority. He has presented and published widely. He is Editor of Clark Wilson LLP's Construction Law Bulletin. Last December Roy was recognized by being appointed a Queen's Counsel (QC) by the BC Lieutenant-Governor in Council on the recommendation of the BC Attorney General.

Roy is a Director of the Canadian Forces Liaison Council, an organization that has been supporting Canada’s Reserve Force for over 30 years.
