About this session
What started in the late forties by the tenants of a housing cooperative in Switzerland has now reached the masses. Anybody you talk to today has heard of Uber, Zipcar or car2go and many understand the shared mobility user experience of each. It’s difficult to overstate the enormity of the change as vehicle manufacturer, public transit agencies and municipalities grapple with the change and innovate new methods of moving people around town.
For almost a decade, Sandra Phillips has helped organizations to innovate combining state of the art technology with great customer service to build the next generation of transportation. She grew car2go’s business from 0 to 1,000 vehicles, 50,000 members and 15 Mio revenue/year in 2 years or worked with BMW to launching and growing ReachNow, their answer today’s urban mobility needs).
The Road to Success was however not straight: there were speed bumps when convincing municipalities, detours when building technology solutions and communication loops. But if with an engine called perseverance, a GPS indicating your alternatives and a driver called will power, shared mobility has entered the mass market.
Participants will walk away from this presentation with William Ury’s key concept on conflict management and real-life examples and learnings from an industry where traditional waterfall oriented car manufacturers collide with agile technology startups.
