About this session

There’s no project managers in agile! What do I do now?

As organizations adopt agile, project managers are frequently assigned to new roles such as product owner or ScrumMaster and in some cases pushed aside by over-zealous transformation teams that shout the refrain “There are no project managers in agile!”

In this talk, we will discuss where these myths originate and how it impacts how organizations transform.  We will discuss how project managers who are interested in agile or those who work in environments that are transitioning, can help advance change and adapt their skills to enable their own success, as well as that of the teams they work with.  Takeaways: (list takeaways to be learned from your presentation)

1) Understand why and how the myth “no project managers in agile” has evolved.

2) Understand what you can do as a traditional project manager to be successful in an agile environment

3) Learn how you can engage with agile transformation teams to advance agile practices and help shape the transformation

4) Dealing with your own discomfort during a transformation
