About this session

Power and politics are an intrinsic, though often ignored, aspect of all projects. Eamonn is an active researcher, teacher and consultant on projects and their management. Eamonn is an active researcher, teacher and consultant on projects and their management. He has worked as a project manager and consultant on project management for over two decades in industries that range from community-based not for profits to large scale manufacturing engineering. 

Eamonn works as a course designer, developer and instructor on the Douglas College Post Degree Diploma in Project Management and acts as Principal Investigator on the newly established Douglas Applied Research and Education initiative. 

Eamonn takes a pragmatic approach to manage projects and recognizes that technical and procedural order coexists with the messy social and political disorder of everyday projects. His approach to projects and their management is informed by his own practice and research and the practice and research of many valued and respected colleagues. He maintains his curiosity and passion and expands his project knowledge by learning from and collaborating with colleagues both locally and internationally. 

Eamonn holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Business Studies from Warwick Business School in the UK and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
