[Virtual] Quantum Technologies: The Next Colossal Program of Projects

The United Nations proclaimed 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technologies. Quantum technologies promise to cure diseases, create new materials, and optimize supply chains and government processes. Or even translate what our cats and dogs are telling us!

However, quantum technologies used by hackers give them the keys to our most sensitive data and systems like nuclear secrets, military strategies and tactics, health and financial information, proprietary software, and more!

Greg details the types of quantum technology projects coming to our PMOs.

There will be a decade of sustained and complex program of projects to plan, implement, and optimize with project teams right in the middle of the action! Greg also explains the severe risk many organizations face resulting in more complex projects. In Greg’s engaging presentation, attendees will be introduced to a program of quantum technology projects implemented with common project management methods, tools, and processes.

Quantum technologies program management is aligned with standards and frameworks including the PMBOK®Guide, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ITIL Service Management, and ISO standards. Greg Skulmoski is an award-winning project manager having led projects in Australia, the Middle East, and Canada. Greg’s innovative use of project management tools and processes won the CISO 2017 Middle East Security Award. Later, Greg was one of the project managers for the Smartphone-Connected Pacemaker Devices program that placed third in Cleveland Clinic’s Top 10 Medical Innovations for 2021. Greg was also one of the authors (Update Committee) of the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (2000) from the Project Management Institute. Dr. Skulmoski currently teaches risk management and project innovation management at Bond University in the Faculty of Society and Design, in Australia. Greg’s critically acclaimed book – Shields Up: Cybersecurity Project Management brings together research and practice into a concise guide to cybersecurity projects.
