About this event

About The Strategic Attendee™ Workshop

The Strategic Attendee™ helps you get more conference ROI from every event. Conferences can be a significant investment of both time and money, but too often we arrive without a clear strategy and leave with a pile of business cards, LinkedIn connections and good intentions.

The Strategic Attendee™ is a practical workshop designed to help participants approach conferences more intentionally. Using a simple Before, During and After framework, we’ll look at how to define what success looks like, identify the right people and opportunities, navigate the event effectively, and build a follow-up approach that turns conversations into meaningful relationships and outcomes.

Participants will learn how to:

* Set clear objectives and define what a successful conference looks like before attending.
* Prioritise the people, sessions and opportunities that matter most.
* Network more intentionally and confidently during the event.
* Create a structured follow-up plan to turn connections into longer-term value.

Conference ROI: The Before, During and After Framework

Before: Define what a successful conference looks like, then choose the people, sessions and opportunities worth your time.

During: Network with purpose and navigate the event with a plan, instead of reacting to the schedule as it comes.

After: Follow up in a structured way, so your conference ROI shows up in the weeks that follow, not just on the day.

Who Should Attend

The Strategic Attendee™ is for project managers, PMO leaders and project management practitioners who attend conferences and want more to show for the investment. It is also a good fit for aspiring PMPs planning their first big event.

The timing helps too. PMWest 2026 runs November 5 and 6 at the Vancouver Convention Centre, about three weeks after this session, which leaves time to build your plan before you arrive.

Attend this session if:

* You are heading to PMWest 2026 or another conference this year and want a plan before you go.
* You want to leave with a follow-up plan, not just a pile of business cards.
* You want to network with purpose and feel confident doing it.
