Designed for PMI CWCC members, this program accelerates the path to becoming a skilled project management professional with expert mentorship, exclusive events, and free certification opportunities.

What is the PM Apprenticeship Program?

The PMI-CWCC Project Management Apprenticeship Program helps fast-track a cohort of elite, PM-focused students and professionals who are PMI CWCC members toward a career in project management. This program will feature monthly cohort meetups, bi-weekly check-ins for mentees and mentors, and learning sessions led by subject matter experts.

Mentee Benefits

PMAP Mentees will have the opportunity to be CAPM or PMP certified upon completion of the program. CAPM and PMP certifications are highly valued accreditations that give individuals a competitive advantage in the job market. Mentees will be reimbursed for their CAPM or PMP exam fees and approved review materials, provided they pass the respective exams within the duration of the program.

What are the requirements to join the program?

Requirements and Expectations

  • Active Participation - Be an active member of PMI–CWCC once selected for the Cohort by the PMAP Team.
  • Time Commitment - Dedicate 15 to 40 hours per month (around 5 to 10 hours per week) during cohort duration (April to September)
  • Session Attendance - Availability to attend all scheduled online and in-person sessions throughout the program duration.
  • Session Attendance and Collaboration - Attend our inspiring monthly in-person check-in sessions and participate in biweekly meetings with your assigned mentor and program team. These connections foster growth, learning, networking, and connection.
  • Be a Communicator - Maintain active communication and engage in meaningful discussions during biweekly check-ins
  • Share Your Journey - Be open to sharing your project experiences. Your stories and lessons learned will serve as a beacon of inspiration for your mentee.
Requirements for Mentees who want to Take the Certified Associate of Project Management (CAPM) exam:
  • Be currently enrolled or just graduated from in a post-secondary institution. We welcome both part-time and full-time students; and
  • Be currently enrolled in a project management course or have recently completed a project management course that’s at least 23-hours in length.
REQUIREMENTS FOR MENTEES WHO WANT TO TAKE THE Project Management Professional (PMP) EXAM:
  • Have achieved a four-year degree with 36 months of experience over the last eight years supplemented by 35 hours of project management education or training or the CAPM certification; or
  • Have achieved a high school diploma or associate's degree with 60 months of experience over the last eight years supplemented by 35 hours of project management education or training, or the CAPM certification.
  • Have submitted or are in the process of submitting the PMP application to PMI.
