Project management has revolutionized legal work and law practice management, providing structure, best practices and case management systems. This presentation will examine the impact and intersection of project management with law practice, and how project management works in the legal profession. David Cohen leads the Client Service Delivery team at one of Canada's national law firms, McCarthy Tetrault. He works with McCarthy Tétrault lawyers across the country within the domain of legal project management to develop and implement innovative pricing and service delivery models for the firm’s clients. David also oversees the firm’s Dialogue Project Management program which embeds legal project management into client matters. David frequently speaks at conferences and conducts seminars and workshops for clients on topics relating to alternative fee arrangements, legal project management, legal technology and legal innovation.
Paul Pelletier is a corporate/technology lawyer, project manager, international professional speaker, author and business executive with over 25 years of experience in senior roles in government and industry. A pioneer in the legal PM world, Paul was the first lawyer with a PM certificate in the federal Department of Justice. Paul has managed legal projects ranging from transformational information management projects to implementing a legal risk management program. He is also an advocate, consultant and trainer in workplace bullying management, workplace respect and leadership. He is a regular presenter at global conferences and events. He also teaches sections of the PMP/CAPM prep course.
