Panel Moderator Dr. Eamonn O'Laocha holds a Ph.D. in business from Warwick Business School in the UK, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP and Prince2 Practitioner). He is a high-level leader who is committed to organizational excellence in the delivery of community-focused services. He is a highly versatile and well-rounded professional leader and manager with extensive experience in strategy formulation and implementation, innovation and technology transfer, multi-party initiatives, financial management and reporting, operations management and organizational and individual capability development. He is a supportive and enabling manager whose approach is based upon positive regard towards others, mutual respect, transparency and clarity. Dr. O'Laocha's research interests include; innovation and technology transfer, professional practice in complex and dynamic contexts, governance in complex organizational and inter-organizational contexts, information systems strategy and operations, and innovative engaged approaches to organizational design , development, leadership and management.
Chris Hobbs is a seasoned entrepreneur and the President of Two Tall Totems, a premium software development company with over 150 clients in 20 different industries. A natural leader, Chris is known for his ability to cultivate teamwork and innovation all while delivering amazing results. This entrepreneurial drive is complemented by a passion for community and collaboration, with four years of experience serving as President of ViDIA, the Vancouver iDevelopers Industry Association. Chris also has a thorough understanding of bleeding edge technology and project management processes, given his background leading innovation-oriented discovery sessions.
Scott Benesh is an industry veteran with 28 years of experience managing EPC infrastructure projects. After completing a mechanical engineering degree at the University of Saskatchewan, Scott moved on to manage and deliver many projects around the world. Scott has experienced the challenges of the industry first-hand and wants to make a change using technology. He is excited about the opportunity to solve client problems by integrating their delivery service with new and innovative ways of thinking. The result: building a better world with the power of technology.
Grace Bassey is an accredited project management professional currently working at Dentons Canada LLP where she has facilitated the delivery of multiple initiatives including software rollouts, company rebranding, desktop migrations and a datacenter modernization project in the largest global law firm. Her role involves working with virtual teams based out of Canada, USA, UK, Europe, Australia and APAC to ensure that projects are delivered on time, to the highest quality and within budget. She has five years of project management experience gained from managing strategic IT projects in the public sector and legal industry. Grace holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom (UK) and a Masters in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh, UK. Her areas of interest include research and development, process improvement and stakeholder management.
Natali AltshulerVice President - Head of Development, EA SPORTS Vancouver
Natali is a VP, Head of Development at EA SPORTS Vancouver, overseeing the development of the EA SPORTS FIFA, EA SPORTS NHL & EA SPORTS UFC franchises - a cumulative organization of 600 people. She has been with EA for 15 years after graduating with a BSc, Computer Science from UBC. Natali's primary responsibility as a member of the EA SPORTS leadership team is to drive the business across two key studios - Vancouver, Canada and Bucharest, Romania. This includes managing her organization's budget and staff planning, long term development plans, strategic planning, new product kick-offs, development model improvements, day-to-day tactical execution, project auditing and risk reduction strategies.
Nalini Vadivelan MS, PMP, CSM, ITSMQA Project Manager, EA SPORTS Vancouver and PMI CWCC VP Marketing
Nalini Vadivelan MS, PMP, CSM, ITSM, a seasoned project management professional, has worked for organizations such as HCL Technologies, G.E., Akibia, General Dynamics-Itronix and currently Electronic Arts (EA) in the Hi-tech industry. Nalini studied and worked in the United States for about ten years before her family relocated to Vancouver, Canada. She has successfully led many distributed development projects liaising with multiple stakeholders across the globe. At EA as QA Project owner, she recently released the world’s most played FIFA game title on Nintendo Switch Console. She is a toastmaster and author of the “5Cs of Managerial Leadership” article in International Journal of Servant Leadership (IJSL). Nalini also serves as VP Marketing on the CWCC Board helping us to reach and grow our PMI community. In recognition of her strategic and operational excellence in project management, her previous employer HCL Tech sponsored “Emerging Leaders” program at Harvard University.
