Ivan-Rincon.jpg Ivan Rincon, B. Eng., MBA, PMP, PgMP is an experienced project and program manager with almost years of experience. He has been a dedicated volunteer with PMI since 2007 both at the local and global level. He is alumni of the prestigious PMI Leadership Institute Master Class. Thanks to his engagement with this leadership program, he has been invited to speak about project management topics in many venues including Dominican Republic, Norway and most recently, Tanzania.
Ivan was born in Colombia and came to Canada in 2004. He has worked in small and large organizations in areas like government, oceanographic and marine research, and emergency management. He is also an Advanced Communicator in Toastmasters.

He is currently Executive Director, Project Management with the Ministry of Jobs, Economic Development and Competitiveness at the BC Government. Also, he is University Instructor in post-graduate courses in project management at VIU (Canada) and Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia).

Description:

In his last speaking engagement in 2019, Ivan was invited to Tanzania. Through his interactions with local project managers and practitioners, he learned that although it is a global profession, the issues and challenges are different. He spoke about project culture, and little he knew the content of his presentation help him survive the visit to the birthplace of modern humans. Telling his own story about engaging with wonderful professionals, he will bring a global perspective to the challenges of being a project manager in our magnificent global village.
