Overview

The Technology Team is seeking two additional volunteers to help the Chapter “push” certain time-sensitive information via email in an eBlast. The eBlast Publishers form a self-organizing dynamic team in which one team member takes the end-to-end responsibility for formatting and publishing an eBlast, while the other team members provide proof-reading support. Every Publisher has the opportunity to take on the end-to-end role.

Volunteering as an eBlast Publisher will build strong networking relationships and result in documentable career-enhancing achievements. Positions are open to any Chapter Member who is a team player. All eBlast Publishers report to the Director of Technology.

 

Responsibilities

  • Format content, resize graphics, and edit articles to produce a correct and well-presented eBlast
  • Proof-read to ensure that the presentation of an eBlast is best-in-class
  • Work together but remotely with the fellow eBlast publishers to publish an eBlast according to its deadline
  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with other volunteers, in particular those of the Marketing Portfolio
  • Make recommendations to improve the quality of eBlasts and the effectiveness of team work
  • Identify and recommend industry best practices in facilitating the Chapter's communication and operation.

 

Qualifications

Education

  • A PMP is not required
  • Must be a Member in good standing in the PMI CWCC

Experience and Skills

  • Prior relevant experience is not required

Must have:

  • Familiarity with email concepts - email formats, differences between browsers
  • Exceptional fluency in spoken and written English, especially spelling and punctuation
  • Extremely strong attention to detail

A distinctive advantage to have:

  • Demonstrated ability to use email publishing tools such as Vertical Response, MailChimp or Salesforce
  • Working knowledge of HTML

Nice to have:

  • Experience in creating and editing content for a variety of communications channels, including media, website, email, and social media
  • Knowledge of social media, web strategy and other emerging communications platforms
  • Knowledge of web writing, search engine optimization and content management systems

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 6-10 hours per month on a consistent basis
  • Must be available to work remotely with the team in the evening of Thursdays
  • Minimum commitment of one year
